The Johnny Polygon Project

About couple of months ago, we had the pleasure of shooting and filming Johnny Polygon, a musician from our hometown Tulsa, Oklahoma. He’s been on tour with Kid Cudi and has released a mixtape with the help of DJ Green Lantern whom I’m sure our visitors are probably sure of. He’s been slowly putting out quality that’s been getting quite a few people to nod their heads. Johnny decided to do a two night set in our hometown and was gracious enough to let us shoot it. Check out some of the footage from the first night. More to come later!!!

Runaway With Us

Runaway with Us from Jaren Collins on Vimeo.

When the genius of my generation is confined to only the rhythms and rhymes and can not compromise reality, I have got to break free from the causality of lifes innuendos.
Not easily broken but, while I don’t like to stroke my ego, I can say I’ve been bent, battered, and bruised by the box I’ve been placed in by my people.
I am no mime but these invisible layers entrap my mind placing this handsome face through the loop of a noose to choke away the indemnity of my creativity.
Now, I can only see what is lacking me.
I was told I couldn’t get farther then the empty streets of home. That I would one day return in pieces, but
I dare not break, yet break free.
If I never tell you of my dreams, who are you to say I can’t make them reality.
I never said I needed you to empower me.
In fact, I am stippled by the reality that you have placed in front of me.
No wonder this caged bird can’t sing, what bird would be happy if it couldn’t spread its wings.
Submit to the essence of Fly.
What’s really cooler than being cool?
To dream of what’s most wanted, but never become the chaser is to be a fool.
So watch me break free of normality and bestow upon you all more shattered faces.
I will not let you mold me any longer.
Therefore, I am.

The Artistic Insanity presents Runaway With Us. Its our first video and it symbolizes that sometimes you have to break free from the traditional path to blaze your own trail. Enjoy!! Leave a comment and let us know how you feel!

Break

One man can only take so much. How often is it that whenever you try to step past the ordinary that its too often shunned and deemed, “strange”? Why is it that we are so unwilling to accept any form of change? Why do we frequently find comfort in mediocrity? Do you feel you have an inability to create your own path? We encourage you to BREAK free of these misconceptions and blaze your own trail.

Sincerely,
The Artistic Insanity

He’s More Insanity than Artistic

If you’ve visited this site at any point in time, you’ve undoubtedly seen his work. Photographer, videographer, poet, the man does it all. He’s pretty artistic but if you’ve met him, you KNOW he’s definitely oozing with INSANITY. He’s currently a student at the University of Oklahoma and an owner/lead photographer of Just Cause Images Photography & Design (JCi for short). Ha, and they say this generation is lazy.

Love Lost

Before you look at this and think, “Slideshow and Maxwell song. Seen it a million times.” Let me break this down to you.

Moving Pictures of Lost Love. The chosen name says it all… Break up. Or separation from love.

The movie starts with happiness.. Calm.. serenity.. And the couple literally wanders aimlessly without regard to the person following them until he makes himself known.

I think the character Kevin (trenchcoat)  portrays is so ambiguous because he is meant to be the uncertainty of relationship. He can be many things. And once he is presented, he can either be confronted.. or you can run from him.

We chose to run. Hide him away. And as the couple runs, chased to the roof top, they are faced by decision.

I think Janine portrays it perfectly. A lot of your faces were definitive for the situation. While Phillip looks around for an out, Janine tends to look over the ledge then back at the oncoming aggressor. As if trying to make up her mind. Phillip as a man, doesn’t attempt to completely understand but more so comfort Janine.

In the end, the choice is to stay with uncertainty or let love die. Let go of bad habits.

This is my interpretation. My emotions have spilled into my work.

If We Don’t Support Home, Who Will?

Well what do we have here? An artist from Tulsa, Oklahoma + Different & Dope = Johnny Polygon.

This is crazy, I used to ride the bus with his little sister and now he’s blowing up. Before you say he stole the theme from ”Nothin on You” by B.o.B., realize his video was released 2 weeeks prior. Anywho, listen to The Riot Song.

Mr. Polygon toured with Kid Cudi who then decided to lend his vocals to the remix of The Riot Song. This isn’t your weak townie musician.
