In case you missed it, the Chicago Bulls, correction, MY Chicago Bulls took on the superhuman task of stopping LeBron James and the surging Miami Heat. Before the game started, my phone starting vibrating with messages that stated, “28″…”Your team has no chance”…”D. Rose ain’t walking on that hardwood tonight. Rip gone. Noah ain’t playing. Get ready for an L.” My response to all the afore mentioned messsages was simple, “Ha. You’ll see.” AND SEE THEY DID.

The Bulls played grown man basketball last night. Kirk Hinrich tackled LeBron rather than to give up an easy bucket. Taj hit Bron with a hard foul on his way to the cup. In a pivotal moment, Hinrich ripped the ball from the grasps of the walking flamingo known as Chris Bosh. To top it all off a frustrated King James through a vicious shoulder/elbow combination that would’ve weakened a lesser man, but Boozer absorbed the contact. 27 is my favorite number. I was born on the 27th. Yesterday was the 27th and it seemed fate that Heat’s winning streak would end at 27 to the hands of my favorite team. Not only did we end the streak, but we captured a playoff birth at the same time.

All is well.

It was some time last week when @poeticjustiZZ text me asking if I’d heard of Lianne La Havas. I told him no. He then urged that I open Spotify and go listen to her album. After about an hour or so, I think I fell in love. I’m not sure yet exactly what happened but her music is good and she’s gorgeous.
