Picture this. There’s two 20 something males who by all accounts are losers. One of these males was the most creative guy in his high school but never followed things through. A young man with all the potential but no execution is a deadly thing. The other is a man looking for the next get rich quick so he can live lavish and hookup with women all the while living with his grandmother. This sounds like a match made in hell, however it turns out to be a wonderful surprise. Throw a upcoming rapper in the mix (Kid Cudi) and you’ve got How To Make It In America.
This HBO television show has become wildly successful because, well…, I guess it resonates with every college/high school student. You’re at a point in your life where you don’t know what you wans to do with your life. Sure everyone wants to be successful, but no one knows exactly how they’re going to get there. In this show, you’ve got two men in the prime of their lives just trying to make it, hence the title of the show. These two young men decide to follow their dreams together and it seems to be working out for them. Of course it has a lot to do with luck, but in my opinion, luck coupled with ambition becomes an opportunity.
I won’t ruin the show for you, but let’s just say hustle + hard work = success.
